Beck Newton has over 30 years health experience. She’s a Registered Nurse, Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialled Diabetes Educator with postgraduate qualifications in diabetes, mental health, health coaching and business.

Beck currently sees patients aged >16 years in her private clinic EatLiveWell. She practises from the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre in Stirling and Busselton, as well as Margaret River and via Telehealth. She facilitates diabetes education programs, as well as nutrition and health seminars to community groups, schools and the corporate sector. Beck is also a sessional academic at Curtin University's School of Nursing & Midwifery.

While Beck sees patients with many different health issues, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, type 1 diabetes, and type 2 diabetes are her main areas of focus. She has a special interest in metabolic health and uses a thoughtful, individualised approach to support these chronic health conditions. She has undertaken additional training and education in the application of assessing and adjusting carbohydrate intake for improving blood glucose levels and insulin resistance. Using this approach, together with diabetes education, many of her patients have improved their blood glucose/HbA1c levels and some have put their type 2 and pre-diabetes into remission.

Beck also has experience in the field of mental health. She's very interested in the gut-brain connection and the relationship between food and mood. She's undertaken extensive training in eating disorders and is a Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician with the Australian and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders. She has also completed training in using nutrition and metabolic approaches to treating other mental health conditions.

Beck will take the time to gain an understanding about you, your presenting issue and your lifestyle. She’s focused on helping you to achieve optimal physical and metabolic health through personalised nutrition and embracing a healthy relationship with food and eating.
"My philosophy to food is pretty simple - eat a variety of quality, nutritious whole foods most of the time and eat in a way that removes calorie restriction, guilt, shame or negative thoughts. Sometimes we need help to develop skills to do this - that builds self-esteem and self-worth, and improves mindset and overall health. This is where my extensive experience in health coaching, counselling and education can support you."  Beck
